Bras For A Cause Raised Over $2,000 For Nakon Foundation

On Wednesday, May 6, Bonnie Zurcher and Sharon Morton, co-chairs of the Bras-For-A-Cause, presented  Stacey Rusher of the Nakon Foundation with $2,022.31.   The money was raised by the sale of  72 decorated bras at the biennial North Coast Needlers Quilt Show held April 18th and 19th at Westlake High School.

Coincidentally, the Nakon Foundation just received a $350 donation for Cotton Candy Quilt Guild.  Their 18 member guild sent the money they raised from a raffle quilt to say “thank you” for the assistance a member’s daughter got from the foundation.

The Show Was A Success

The show was a big success and the “Bras For A Cause” auction has so far raised over $1600 for the Karen Nakon Foundation for breast cancer patients.  All of the bras were sold in the silent auction and the total could go even higher as the bras are picked up and paid for.  Thank you one and all for participating.

Bras For A Cause

The North Coast Needlers Quilt Guild’s biennial quilt show, “To the Nines” will be held April 18-19 at Westlake High School, located at 27830 Hilliard Road, Westlake, Ohio.
Hours are 10-5 daily.

Traditionally the largest show in northeast Ohio, the show features over 300 quilts, the national Hoffman Fabric Challenge, vendors and The Quiltside Café.

An added attraction this year is “Bras For A Cause.” A silent auction will be held each day featuring bras decorated by guild members. Proceeds will be given to the Karen P. Nakon Foundation, a local organization supporting breast cancer patients.
